Age-Reversing Miracle, Serums are one of the most effective skin care products in the market today. Concentrated with active ingredients that help your skin to reverse the signs of aging to an extent, these serums are a miracle in their own right. However, these serums are vastly different from anti-aging creams, with the main difference being that the former is water-based whereas the latter is typically oil-based. This difference determines whether the product shall actually moisturize your skin or leave it looking like a mess.
Serums generally have a stronger concentration of active ingredients than creams and are used to target specific areas of the skin. For example, with eye serums, they help target specific issues of the eye such as puffiness, dark circles etc., whereas creams are used for an overall usage of moisturizing the skin. Since creams are already oil-based, someone with an oily skin would not benefit from it as much as a person with dry skin. On the other hand, a serum would work miracles on an oily-skinned person as opposed to someone with dry skin, making it dry with its water-based content. Hence, an oily-skinned person using a cream instead of a serum would have breakouts rather than a flawless skin. Similarly, a dry-skinned person would be left with under-nourished skin and dryness by using a serum.
Sometimes referred to as ‘Booster’, serums are meant to penetrate the skin faster as opposed to a cream, and help it retain its agelessness. Although it’s better to ask your skin specialist as to when to start using a serum, one can typically start using it in their late 20s to early 30s. Serums rich in vitamin C and vitamin E should be used on a daily basis for a quick effect. Creams are supposed to moisturize the entire face, hence they come in large containers whereas serums are sold in tiny bottles as a little application of these miracle creams work wonders for your skin.
Skin serums are a great option if you want to punch in some extra nourishment for your skin or to rectify a specific skin problem such as hyper-pigmentation, fine lines or dryness of skin. Serums should ideally be used twice in a day, morning and before going to bed at night. It should be the first product to be used in the morning, before one applies sunscreen and also the product to be used before one applies moisturizer before going to bed. Serums have a ton of uses, including certain long-term anti-aging benefits. The immediate effects may be seen in the form of skin brightening and soothing, in addition to having a glowing skin tone. In the long run, anti-aging serum work great for getting a healthier and firmer skin, even skin tone and lead to fewer wrinkles. Serums help remove dark spots, brown patches as well as provide nourishment to the skin which enables it to repair faster. In lieu of its miraculous properties, it is highly advisable that you start using a serum as soon as you feel you should, rather than waiting for the right time or signs of aging to show.
There are many home remedies, treatments, and exercises that offer to reverse the aging process. These anti-aging treatments work on various cases like circles under the eyes and wrinkles. Other problems include stretch marks, sun spots, and cellulite too. Furthermore, there are treatments focused towards reversing the process of aging in the skin from the inside.
One of the popular remedies to achieve youthful skin and try to reverse aging is to fight dark circles under the eyes. This can be simply remedies with the use of cucumber slices to eliminate the circles and swelling. By placing cold cucumbers over the eyes, this area is moisturized. The coolness lets the area to constrict the blood vessels to reduce the swelling. Cucumbers also offer antioxidants to fight the anti aging process in the skin.
These dark circles under the eyes can also be treated with wet tea bags. Like cucumber, tea bags can offer additional moisture. With the help of tannin and tea caffeine, it can get rid of the swelling.
Wrinkles are another big problem especially those around the mouth. To keep facial lines around your mouth, exaggerate smiling then gnash your teeth together. Repeat this exercise at least 12 times every day. Moreover, when moisturizing your face, never miss the area around your mouth. It is also recommended to keep your lips hydrated with a lip balm.
In the end, these anti-aging treatments need to be incorporated with a healthier change in one’s lifestyle. Exercise and the right diet with plenty of water are very important. Stay away from your bad habits like alcohol, smoking, and drug use.

Researchers at Harvard-affiliated medical centers recently published remarkable anti-aging results of a study using gene therapy on mice — that reversed aging!
That’s right, in the study they saw the total reversal of age-related problems, including decreased brain function which returned to normal and failing organs that started working well again. Even fur on the mice that had turned grey was restored to dark fur.
I find this so exciting! The researchers didn’t expect such dramatic anti-aging results, results that went way beyond slowing the signs of aging to actually reversing it — which is what I call growing younger!
What did they do to cause the mice to grow younger? They lengthened their telomeres.
You haven’t heard of telomeres? Let’s back up for a second and define some things. DNA is held within the chromosomes and each chromosome has a protective cap at the ends — called a telomere. It’s sort of like the tip of a shoelace which keeps the shoelace from unraveling.
Throughout life, these protective caps get shorter and shorter — and eventually they become too short to protect the DNA. At this point cellular damage begins to occur, leading to malfunction in crucial organs like the brain, heart, liver, and pancreas.
Muscle loss also occurs, and eventually extreme weakness and frailty happen. In other words, when the telomeres get short enough, the deterioration of old age occurs.
In this study, researchers boosted the cellular levels of telomerase, enzymes that lengthen telomeres, in the mice — and saw the signs of aging reversed. In measureable ways, the mice grew younger!
The next big question is: Can they do the same for people?
They’re certainly hopeful and are conducting more animal studies which will undoubtedly lead to research with people. In the case of humans, each cell holds 23 pair of chromosomes, each with telomeres at the strand ends.
Prior research has already established that shorter telomeres are associated with age-related diseases such as heart disease and Alzheimer’s. The exciting news about this study is the fact that boosting cellular levels of telomerases resulted in a significant reversal of the detrimental signs of aging.
Dr. Ronald DiPinho, a geneticist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, and co-author of the study results, said he thinks this research has identified the core pathway explaining many different theories of aging.
Now, as exciting as this is, we don’t want to sit on our laurels and wait — we want to do everything we can right now to grow younger!
Lifestyle factors may matter just as much! Dr. Dean Ornish, researcher at the University of California San Francisco, conducted a study several years ago with volunteers (people!) who agreed to follow a low-fat diet, exercise regularly and use relaxation techniques.
These lifestyle changes increased the volunteers’ levels of telomerase – hence postponing the time when the telomeres could no longer protect the cells from damage.
My diet is not so low-fat if you count all the coconut oil I consume — which is very healthy for you so I’m sure that’s good. But I DO exercise every day and the relaxation technique I use is twice daily half-hour meditation. Those are just a few of the “grow young” techniques that are working for me so I expect my telomeres are doing a good job protecting my cells. Believe me, I AM growing younger!
If you need scientific anti-aging evidence to believe it’s possible to reverse aging, you’ve got it in the studies I mentioned. In the meantime, there are so many anti-aging tips and techniques you can use to start that process right now, including an easy way to cut down on calories, as I explain in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8t8Rp5fkpk.
Keep in mind, however, that when you allow the belief that you CAN grow younger, you’ve taken a significant step toward making it happen. Now let’s celebrate! Walk, exercise, drink lots of pure water, observe your thoughts, pray, meditate and eat less — so we can grow younger together!
